Yorkshire Geology Weekend 2021

The annual ‘Yorkshire Geology Day’ event, which has for several years been held at the National Coal Mining Museum for England (NCMME) near Wakefield, is regrettably cancelled for the second consecutive year. Traditionally, the YGS sees this event as an opportunity for outreach and presents an inclusive programme of talks and activities to engage the general public as well as its members.

It is hoped that a ‘normal service’ can be resumed in 2022 but in the meantime a series of webinars has been organised over the weekend of Friday 7th May to Sunday 9th May 2021 which it is hoped will appeal to a wide audience.

The webinars will also be broadcast live on the Society’s YouTube channel should you find that there are no remaining places on the Zoom webinars, or if you prefer to watch them from this platform.

With the speakers’ permission it is hoped that each talk will be available to view for a further 14 days after they have been streamed live.

We’ve included below a summary of the webinars that will be held on each day.

Further details about each webinar can be found in the YGS Events page.

Please note that you will need to register for each webinar separately as they are separate events on Zoom.
