ABSTRACT

Mammal fossils from the British Isles dating to the time of dinosaurs once played a key role in understanding mammal evolution. But their importance has been overshadowed by discoveries in places like China. Now, new technologies and new fossils from Scotland are putting British material back at the forefront of palaeontological science.
