12:45pm - 2:00pm: Mince pies w/ tea or coffee (Headingley Breakout Area) - YGS Council members will be there to great members & have a face-to-face catch up.

2:00pm - 3:00pm: Annual General Meeting (Cookridge Room)

3:00pm - 3:30pm: Viewing of posters presented by 2020/2021 Society medal awardees - tea/coffee & mince pies will be available again (lets keep it festive!)

3:30pm - 4:30pm: YGS Awards Ceremony (Cookridge Room)

Abstract for President’s Address:

Anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions are still rising and it is now inevitable that even if we reduce future emissions to “net-zero”, at a rapid rate, the inertia from our cumulative emissions will cause global warming, sea level rise and ocean acidification to continue for many centuries into the future. Is it possible to use geoengineering options to try and moderate these processes? What choices do we have?
